A good looking piece of briar, but I’m guessing that the manufacturer felt it wasn’t good enough for the range he had planned. This happened quite often, and rather than devalue the range, or discard the pipe, he offered it to selected retailers at a lower price.
They knew where it came from and could tell their customers.
Everybody wins.
Unfortunately we don’t know which manufacturer this pipe came from, but we do know from history that it would be a good buy. Hardly smoked, excellent condition, lightweight, flaws/fillings are invisible. No filter option.

This was a different type of offering from the top pipe companies. A good tobacconist could order quality pipes to be stamped with their own name.
Smokers Corner was, in their day, a genuinely good pipe and tobacco shop in central Johannesburg. Whenever he came from Durban to play inter-provincial cricket or baseball, Colin would visit to see if they had anything new that we didn’t know about.
So this is a genuine bargain – beautiful briar, artistically carved, hardly smoked, excellent condition.
You’ll delight in being its new owner. No filter option.

We knew the BPK company in the 1980s as a manufacturer of Beechwood pipes. In fact we visited the company in Prague in 1994.
But they had been making briar pipes for many years previously.
Essentially budget pipes they make a good addition to a collection – ideal for hiking or fishing.
It won’t matter too much if it disappears into the ocean.
A large piece of briar in a comfortable shape. But the inner bowl is not too large.
9mm option.

A mystery pipe – but the shape is so British. Nobody else makes them quite the same.
Maybe the stamps will give you a clue.
This guy has really been in the wars – wounded across the end of the shank, with a few cuts and abrasions added. A metal bandage and some strong glue has tended to the damage, and it’s good to go.
Then look at the briar – stunning Straight / Crossgrain, Birdseye, and plenty of hard wood. This pipe has a good few years of life left in it. Perfect for sitting back and relaxing with your favourite tobacco.
No filter option – if you feel you need one try a bowl filter – there’s enough room.
