In South Africa the Popular was probably the best known of the GBD range.
We sold many in our shops.
Standard quality, with less spot fillings than I would have expected, and plenty of hard wood showing nice Birdseye over most of the bowl.
A bit battered around the rim of the bowl, but very little charring.
Replacement mouthpiece, no filter option.

GBD
GBD was founded in Paris France in the 19th century by Ganeval, Boundier and Donninger. In 1903 an additional factory was built in England and run by Oppenheimer (now Cadogan). The pipes are well made, mostly from Algerian or Greek briar.
