Description
Savinelli Ecume Meerschaum-lined pipes date back to the 1990s. This pipe has never been smoked.
The pipe shows really good briar, no obvious fillings. The grain is mixed Flame and Birdseye with plenty of hard wood. I don’t know why it was chosen to house the meerschaum cup – it looks beautiful.
This Savinelli shape 173 is very elegant with a gently rounded bowl and the rounded triangular stem.
And then you have the Meerschaum cup lining known for its lightness, power of absorption, length of life, and the purity of tobacco flavours. All protected by the Briar outer bowl.
6mm option, removable adapter fitted.
A search tells me that the pipes sell for between $80 and $200, depending on whether new or previously smoked, and the condition.
I settled on a middle price.
